What social housing means to me: David Weddell

I have worked in housing for over 30 years where I compared & dispatched Land Register Certificates at Registers of Scotland. I then worked at Scottish Homes in Legal Services where I issued the Right to Buy Housing Applications Offers & Acceptances.

I then worked for various Housing Associations namely Cairn, Canmore & Manor Estates in various Departments including Finance, Housing & Maintenance.

What my home means to me is a safe & secure, warm, wind & water tight environment that belongs to me that I am proud to call my home.

Social Housing is very important as it reduces Homelessness so plays a major role in the economy by providing jobs, though I feel not enough funding is provided to built new housing & the existing redundant housing stock could be put to better use.

I am enhancing the rights of our tenants & customers by providing them with excellent customer service whenever they contact Ark HA whether it is regarding a Housing Application, Rent query or for a furniture or flooring request.
